My name is Dr Catrina Stansfield. I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist. I have worked in several mental health services within the NHS since 2015, including adult mental health, child and adolescent mental health, learning disability, neuropsychology rehabilitation and forensic services. I have also worked with a charity and a local council to help them improve their practice to better the psychological health of their service users. I currently offer online and telephone-based therapy to adults (aged 18+) across the UK.
I pride myself in my ability to create strong, open and honest therapeutic relationships with those I work with. I strive to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental and hopeful space for clients to feel safe to explore, and make sense of, their difficulties. I provide a tailored intervention to support and empower you to make and maintain changes.I work with people with a range of difficulties including, although not limited to, anxiety (for example, worry, panic, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive difficulties), low mood and depression, low self-esteem, PTSD and complex trauma. Whatever your difficulties, if you are feeing stuck and things seem to be getting in the way of achieving what matters to you, then I will work with you to help you identify and reach your goals.
I draw from several therapeutic modalities including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CT-PTSD). I have extensive training in these models, and I ensure that I regularly access supervision and engage in continuing professional development opportunities so that I am providing the best service for my clients.
Reaching out for support is one of the hardest things a person can do. Well done for accessing this page!
